The American Flag Sewn Style

This is a flag I made using my decorated papers and sewing it together.  The white stripes are made with fringe.

This isn't the nicest picture because it is gloomy outside today but wanted you to see the difference of inside versa outside.

This is it for today.   I have more to share but it will have to wait for another day.   Thanks for stopping by.

Next Project for Sewn Class

Well we could either make a big Pinwheel out of Vellum or a Memory Panel for this week's class so I chose the Memory Panel for now.   I am sure I will make a pinwheel sometime in the future.

This took me back to the days when I used to go to the Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.   I went there for many years and loved every minute of it.

This is a very large piece and I worked on it for two days.    It is very bright and cheerful and I remember all those balloons that are pictured on that piece.   It was sewn together and then cut up in pieces and then stitched up again.   I used my decorated papers and some of Teesha Moore's collage sheets (which I absolutely love).   Then I sewed on the balloon pictures which was a trick in itself considering the size of this piece.   Hurray, it is done and I must say that I love looking at it.

The picture below was taken outside and wouldn't you know it, it was overcast today but it shows all the stitching done.

I haven't decided what the next project will be but stayed tuned..........I will be back.

Sewing Up the Circles

Had a bunch of half circles that I cut out of my papers so thought I would sew them up and attach them together to hang up.   When hung up, they spin around showing the other colors on the opposite side.

Will be back for some more Sewn Fun.   Have a great week.

Playing Around With Paper

Another piece using Hexagon shapes.   I really didn't care for this piece at all until I did this and that to it......   Not my favorite, even now.

These squares were left over from something else so I decided to sew them together....could be used as a picture frame.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.   Now I need to decide what I am going to do for the next project that we were given today in our Sewn Class.

Chevron Designs This Time

There are so many possibilities in this class.........this time I made four pieces in a Chevron design.

All of the pieces put together.

Four different pieces.

Well that's it for today...........more later.  Thanks for stopping by.

Fly Away Little Kite

Just playing around with paper and the sewing machine and came up with this for Mary Ann's Sewn class.

And I probably used some of these papers to make this kite.

Thanks for stopping by.   That's it for now.

More Fun With Fabric Paper

Had a little time today to play some more with Mary Ann's Sewn class which has been wonderful.

Some time ago, a good friend of mine, Sherry Goodloe,  picked up a lot of Teesha Moore's collage sheets for me when she went to the Carson Rubber Stamp Convention in Carson, CA.   I love Teesha's  work and was so excited when I received them.   Did I use them.........no........but knew I would because they were so beautiful.   I decided to cut a couple up and combine them with my own painted/inked/decorated papers.  This is what I ended up with.

At this point, I don't have any idea what I will use these for but all I can think of when I look  at them are "placemats"........not practical since they are paper but that is what comes to my mind when I look at them.   I am pleased at how they came out and will just continue to look at them and enjoy them.

Thanks for stopping by.

More Fabric Paper

What I did here was just cut strips of my handmade painted decorated papers and started sewing the strips together.   Then I turned the paper and sewed it the other way.......then I went the other way and so on........you get the picture...........

When I do my papers, I always do the fronts and backs.........it has come in handy in this class a lot .   It has given me a lot of choices when one is cutting up the paper in different shapes and piecing them together......   It gives you a lot of choices of color and design.

Well, Craft Monkeys that's it for today.    Need to go and play in the paint, ink and paper.    I am playing with some Neon colors which is really unusual for me.

Fabric Paper

Well the fun continues.   I am having a hard time keeping up but getting a few things done and have a lot more to do.   Life just keeps getting in the way.

Here are a few pieces that I made using most of my pattern papers and some other papers I have around.

Both of these are backed with Vellum and really shine when put in a window.   Haven't decided what I will use them for but like looking at them.

Just playing around and ended up with this.   Looks something like the book cover in a previous post.   Again, used my painted pattern papers.

Just turned it the other way.   Looks nice shining in the window.

This looks like the beginning of a kite.   It is backed with Vellum paper and boy does it shine when put up to a window.   This picture doesn't show it but the top one is actually bigger than the second one.

As time permits, I will make different things using different papers.   Thanks for stopping by.

Book Covers

Here are a couple book covers I made for the Sewn class I am taking.  You can click on that link and find more about it.

The covers are made with my pattern papers that I made........all cut up and sewn together.

I will probably add something to the front but wanted to post this for now.   Again, these were made with my decorated papers, cut into the different shapes and then sewed onto watercolor paper for strength.

More Pattern Paper

Well I have been missing for a few days because Blogger decided not to let me blog....oh well.

Here are some more of my pattern papers..........

I will be posting a couple covers for pattern books.   This class is so much fun.   Love Love Love.

Papers for Sewn Class

Here are a few of the papers I colored/painted/decorated/slapped paint on..........in other words.......had a grand ole time making a mess for the Mary Ann's class Sewn.

For years, I have loved making a mess (and I mean a mess) with acrylic paints and spray inks mainly....on all kinds of paper.   With this class, I have broadened my horizons with watercolors and acrylic inks and making patterns on them.

The first three don't have any patterns/designs on them but I love them a lot.....   I call them Color Designs.  They are done in layers of spray inks mostly.   Do one layer, let dry (which is fast as we are in the desert), next color.....you get the point.

I see I need to do a better job photographing and cropping these more but this will have to do for now.   Bear with me as I haven't blogged in two years and done anything with posting photographs, etc.

Here are a few pieces of papers that I did some patterns on vintage ledger papers..........   I think I used watercolors for the next three.....not for sure at this point.   Too many mediums.....so little time.

This piece below I did on watercolor paper and used acrylic inks.   And then just did some writing on it.

The papers below are all done on watercolor paper with acrylic paints and acrylic inks.....and, again doing them in layers.

Very unusual for me to leave any white spaces on any paper that I color/decorate.

Well this is enough for right now.  Thanks for stopping by.    Would love to hear from you.........
