From Table Runner to a Book Bag

In the last post, I showed you my Leather Antique Photo Album that I made into a journal thanks to Mary Ann Moss' class, Full Tilt Boogie.

Yesterday, as I was sewing up some other items, I decided to make an appropriate bag for the antique photo album journal.   I cut up one of my vintage table runners and thought it went so well with the journal.

It was actually pretty easy to do and I liked how it came out.

I worked on other items all day yesterday but will show at a later time so as to not spoil some surprises for a swap I am in.

Have a great evening everyone and thanks for stopping by.

  2. Great journal bag and it goes so perfectly with your journal. I really like the straps and buttons you used - plus those old sears catalog pages are most excellent!

  5. Hi Nancy!
I found my way to your blog via Full Tilt Boogie which I am a member of although I haven't made a thing because I just got returned from a long trip to France and England. I was so curious to see your bookbag and I LOVE IT!!! I also have fallen in love with your blog! I love vintage and especially lace. I used to watch my Irish grandmother crocheting mounds of Irish lace and sat at her feet and watched it form and fall off her lap onto butcher paper that her sons spread all around her, I loved her home full of vintage treasures and I can't help myself from rescuing whatever finds call out to me. I love your artistic style so much - thank you for the inspiration!!!!

  9. The swap you mention ... is that the signature swap on FTB? I've been borderline about joining it, but am really tempted. Maybe it's the boost I need to get going!
