I guess one can never have enough trimmings, lace, mesh, doilies, straw trim, you name it, it is in this chest. I love picking through it and deciding which will work best for whatever project I am working on. And, of course, it goes without saying that the majority of this was picked up while I was thrift store and flea market shopping. Another thing I like to do with things like this is give them as little gifts to people when the opportunity arises. In fact that is one of the things that make me so happy is to be able to share with people who aren't able to find stuff like this.

Thanks a lot for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. That means a lot to me.
I am a mixed media artist and dabble in all kinds of art. The most important thing to know is that I am a big thrift store, swap meet, bargain hunter for art supplies and will definitely be telling about it on my blog. Back in 1994 my Mom got me into rubber stamping but I quickly went from that to decorating papers, making journals, working with acrylic paints, doing found object jewelry and altered art. My creative life really changed after attending art retreats like ArtFest, Art and Soul and Art Unraveled. I now do a little of everything.
This was my favorite doll who had red hair just like my Mom so I named her Juanita. This will date me but this picture was taken around 1950. I am sitting at the front of the home that my father built in Canby, Oregon. I still have her to this day and she still looks as good as new. I think everyone was really shocked that she stayed in such good condition as I don't think I was that careful with other toys. Lots of special memories since my Mom is gone now.
